Cattle sold to buyers in seven American states, two Canadian provinces and Germany.Headlining the sale and sparking the top bid of $60,000 was Quality Bolton Flafsco, the October 2007 “Bolton” heifer calf from the highly acclaimed Quality B C Frantisco (Ex-96-2E-5*), the five-time All-Canadian and two-time Royal Winter Fair grand champion. This exceptional calf was purchased by Barclay Phoenix, Uxbridge, Ont., Eric Salonen, Baden, Ont., and Dave Rama, Delhi, N.Y., with Quality Farms retaining an interest as well. Frantisco, who is sired by “Charles” and is a granddaughter of the noted Plushanski Valiant Fran ET (Ex-90-USA-DOM-35*), has records to 34,744 lbs. milk, 5.8% fat, 3.3% protein (292-457-294).Another member of the Fran family, Quality Fabulous Fiona, sold for $30,500 to Fraeland Farms, Fergus, Ont., with Quality Farms remaining a partner in her. Rhonda is a Skychief daughter of Hanover-Hill-R Rhonda-ET (4E-94 GMD-DOM). R Shottle’s dam is a 6th generation EX from the “Roxy” family. John Emerling, Kings Ransom, Cook Farm and Married Well Holsteins. Her 3/31/07 Advent maternal sister brought $45,000 and was purchased by Bob Spears. Third high at $42,500 was the Comestar Lee, Liddleholm Emerald-ET (EX-92) a 5th generation EX and an 8th generation VG or EX from the Ridgdale Fond Example (3E-95) family bought by Robert & Joyce Hoffman of Berlin, PA, 4th high at $40,000 was Ridgedale-T Roxy Royale (EX-90). A Shoremar James daughter and a maternal sister to the 1st and 2nd high animal in the sale. |April 25||East Coast Breeders Sale High seller at $28,500 was Spruce-Edge Outside Tana (EX-92, EX-95-MS, 3y) is out of the 2007 PA Spring Show Grand Champion Spruce-Edge Storm Tansy (2E-94). She was from the Pencroft herd and owned by Pencroft & breeders Mike & Jill Ammon Belleville, PA. and purchased by Sherry Siemers-Peterman. Headed to Mansfield, IL, and the home of George Kasbergen, was the 2nd high of the sale at $16,500. Cocalico Lee Shae-TW (EX-90) with 2-02 365 26,821 3.8 1031 3.0 809 is due back for an 11/3 calving to Stormatic. Pencroft shared the ownership of this consignment with Richard Green, Middletown, DE. Bremer Kite Surprise-Red (EX-90) was struck off for $16,200 and Pencroft claimed sole ownership in buying out partner Sandy-Frey-Thomas. Surprise had headed the Sr. 3-year-old class at the `07 PA Spring Show. Her dam is a VG Rubens followed by 3E-92 GMD maternal sister to the 3E-96 GMD DOM “Blackrose”.

|April 12||The NY Spring Holstein Sale, held in conjunction with the NY Spring All-Breeds Dairy Shows. It was one of the most successful sales in its history to total a gross of $744,475. Ernest-Anthony Adeline-ET brought the highest price at $60,000. She was consigned by Ernest Kueffner of Boonsboro, MD, and struck off to the partnership of Corey Wolff, Dave Rama & Ernest Kueffner, Litchfield, CT. Adeline is a Braedale Goldwyn daughter out of EK-Oseeana Ambrosia-ET (EX-92) with 2-03 2x 365 34,290 5.0 1717 3.3 1145. Ambrosia’s All-American credits include Res. 4-Year-Old `07, Res. Jr. 2-Year-Old `05 and HM Jr. 3-Year-Old `06. The 2nd dam is the well known and multi-title holder, Tri-Day Ashlyn-ET (2E-96, GMD-DOM). An Emerald-Acr-Sa T-Baxter daughter, with a PTPI of +1813, reached the sale price of $30,500 to become the 2nd highest selling animal. Welcome Baxter Peta is a daughter of Welcome Goldwyn Penya (VG-88, EX-MS, 2y) This Goldwyn dam carries over $100,000 in embryo and AI contracts. The 2nd dam has 6 sons in AI and embryos exported. |Mar 29||Elm Park Red Futures Sale – Held at the Cow Palace||Kaukauna, WI|
|Mar 20||Springcroft Farm Complete Dispersal. High price was $9,800 with a total of 19 lots at $4,000 or higher! Eight lots hit the $5000 mark and nineteen sold for over $4000. A tribute to the tremendous respect for this family, all cattle sold stayed in either Pennsylvania or New York. A presale barn favorite topped the event at $9800 to the final bid of Duane and Ellen Andrews of Gillett, PA. Springcroft Rubens Maureen. Her December heifer, sired by Outside, sold for $3000 to Gavin and Karen Watson of Columbia Crossroads, PA. Maureen’s dam was a VG-86 Springcroft Integ Hanson (Integrity x Springcroft Skybuck Hei EX-91). Opening the sale with a ½ lot, a rare occurrence for the Cattle Exchange Sales organization, was the day old Aspen calf of the second high seller of the day. Springcroft Durham Sweetz VG-87 followed her potential spring show calf on the auction block. Nathan Wesneski, Roaring Branch, PA, purchased Sweetz for $7400. Her dam was a VG-88 Linjet, followed by a Skybuck 2nd dam. Sweetz’s Aspen daughter was purchased on the bid of Robert Brown of Rome, PA for $3400.
3rd and 4th high sellers were both descendants of the “K” family which represented one of the most dominant cow families at Springcroft. The highest scoring Springcroft cow to cross the shavings, Springcroft Durham Karlyn 2E-93, brought $7200 on the bid of Richard and Colleen Shaffer, Wyalusing, PA.
Springcroft Roylane Kristin, Karlyn’s short bred Roylane Jordan daughter, found a new home in Eastern New York. Albert and Judy Buckbee, Warwick, NY purchased this October 2006 heifer bred to Talent for $6300.
A fancy 2nd calf Outside daughter sold for $5800 on the bid of Gavin and Karen Watson. Springcroft Outside Cara’s dam was a 2E-92 Marvelous daughter with fat records to 1445F.

|Feb 15||Valentine Special Sale – The sale featured the dispersal of the Norkval Registered Holstein herd from New Albany, PA. The seven time PBR herd with a BAA of 109 represented 60 years of breeding for the Kisner and Norconk families. High seller for Norkval was a VG-88, proven red carrier Red Marker daughter, Norkval Redmarker Linny. Due in May to Advent, she finished a 4-10 record of 33,220M and hails from a 3E-91 200,000M Supreme dam. A northern PA breeder, Scarlet Summer Holsteins from Muncy, purchased Linny for $4350. 38 Norkval cattle crossed the shavings at the Sweetheart Sale for an average price of $2560.
High overall seller of the day was a powerful framed Allen bred heifer whose third dam is none other than A Tora Triple Threat Lulu EX-96. Due to freshen in June to the service of Goldwyn, Bellton C B A Star Lee III was the consignment of Friendship Partners of Strasburg. The gavel struck on this potential fifth generation Excellent for $10,300 on the bid of Todd Lohr of Hooversville, PA.

|Jan 17||The NY Convention ET Sale. Topping the sale was a first choice Advent from Markwell SS Ruby-Red-E, a Red Sept. Storm from the Ravens. Consigned by Andy Merry of Arkport, the choice sold for $16,500 to Long-Brook Farm, the Sherwood family, of Meshoppen, PA. Other high selling prices included $11,600 for a first choice by mutually agreeable sire from Coyne-Farms Bret Daffers-ET *CV (EX-90), a heavily contracted Bret daughter from Coyne-Farms Rudolph Daffy (EX-90, GMD-DOM). Consigned by Coyne Farms of Avon, NY, the choice was purchased by Barry England, PA. Andy Merry consigned another high seller, a first choice Sept Storm from Ernest-Anthony SC Vivian (2E-96) which was purchased by Tim Harkenrider for $15,200. And Alicia Lamb consigned a first choice Goldwyn from Arethusa Aspen Marilyn-ET (next dam is Hillcroft Leader Melanie), which sold for $10,500 to Adam Liddle.||34 lots averaged $7,351|
